Adding quotes can help narrow the results, especially for multiple word search terms, words with hyphens, or dates
"Digital ReLab" or "e-mail"
Make sure the format of the date entered is consistent with the file's metadata
"1/1/2016" is not the same as "01/01/2016" when using quotes
Use a asterisk (*) as a wildcard to broaden the search results
air* finds airplane and airship
Boolean search by adding a (+) for AND and a (-) for NOT e.g.:
jpg +bob +sue -beach to find all jpg images with bob and sue but not at the beach.
